High-level dialogue on green growth held

BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir said that seven out of world’s top 10 green factories are situated in Bangladesh.
He made the revelation at a seminar on a high-level dialogue on green growth organized by Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) in Dhaka on May 7.
Bangladesh has 67 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) green factories certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Among them 16 are LEED Platinum rated and 34 Gold rated while more than 280 factories are registered with USGBC for LEED certification, he added.
MCCI President Barrister Nihad Kabir, former MCCI President M. Anis Ud Dowla, Managing Director of Rahimafrooz Accumulators Ltd. Munawar Misbah Moin, Country Manager of Adam Smith International Sunojit Chattopadhyay and ICCCAD Director Dr. Saleemul Huq also took part in the dialogue.
