Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Monday opened a help desk in Chittagong Port (CP) to bring dynamism in export import works. BGMEA President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority(CPA) Commodore M Anowarul Islam formally inaugurated the desk at CP board room Monday. BGMEA first Vice-President Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, second Vice-President Md. Siddiqur Rahman and directors Nasir Uddin and M Chowdhury Selim, among others, were present. BGMEA sources said the help desk would be connected to the Container Terminal Management System (CTMS) of the port and it would provide updated news of the garment industries. "Two executive officers would be at work at the desk from 10 am to 10 pm and they will immediately solve any problem related to delivery of goods or export and import through proper procedures with the CPA", the sources added.
