On November 20, 2025, a significant meeting was held at the BGMEA Dhaka office between BGMEA leaders and a delegation from RSGT regarding the existing problems at the Patenga Container Terminal—operated by RSGT—and the necessary measures to resolve them.

Representing BGMEA at the meeting were Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan, Director Kazi Mizanur Rahman, and Director Enamul Aziz Chowdhury.

The BGMEA leaders urged the RSGT authorities to take necessary steps to enhance the terminal’s capacity, improve overall management, and make operations more dynamic. Considering the current situation of the garment industry, they specifically requested a revision of labor charges. Additionally, emphasis was placed on improving container handling and overall port operations through the development of modern and proprietary software systems.

The delegation assured that, in case of any issues regarding the delivery of imported goods, full cooperation would be provided if contacted through the RSGT hotline number 0184-1818797.
