A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada (BBCC). The primary objective of this MoU is to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations, enhance business relationships, and create new opportunities for mutual business growth and development.
The MoU signing ceremony took place today, 06 November, at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara. BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan signed on behalf of BGMEA, while BBCC President Alomgir M. Rahman signed on behalf of BBCC. Present at the event were BGMEA First Senior Vice President Salim Rahman, Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan, Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim, Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman, Director Faisal Samad, Director Nafis-ud-Doula, and former Director Iqbal Hamid Quraishi Adnan.
Through this MoU, an institutional relationship has been established to provide mutual benefits to the members of both BGMEA and BBCC. It is expected to ensure enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, and knowledge exchange.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan said during the MoU signing, “This MoU with BBCC will help us leverage the potential of our industry in the Canadian and North American markets. Our goal is to further strengthen the economic relationship between the two countries through advanced trade, investment, and knowledge exchange.”
Under this MoU, both parties have agreed to work together in the following areas:
• Establish closer communication, networking opportunities, and easier knowledge exchange among members of both organizations.
• Jointly organize trade fairs, exhibitions, and business delegations in Canada and Bangladesh, and assist in promoting Bangladeshi garments and textile products in Canada and North America.
• Exchange knowledge, training, and skills to enhance the capacity of entrepreneurs and professionals.
• Create investment opportunities between Canada and Bangladesh in the garment, textile, and related sectors, and encourage partnerships, joint ventures, and collaboration among members.
• Share information on international market trends, policies, and research for the benefit of members.
BGMEA is optimistic that this partnership will take Bangladesh-Canada business relations to new heights.
