A crucial meeting was held today to address the labour situation in the Gazipur zone.

The meeting was attended by the Commerce Secretary, Home Secretary, Labour Ministry Secretary, DIFE Secretary, along with BGMEA representatives including Md. Akter Hossain, Chairman of the BGMEA Crisis Management Gazipur Zone Committee, and BKMEA’s Engineer Belayet Hossain, among others.

In line with the Labour Ministry’s decision on the 28th of this month, the meeting discussed strict monitoring of workers’ trade union activities and giving priority to workers’ access to open market rations by adjusting distribution timings to improve their living standards.

It was also assured that the government’s intelligence agencies, industrial police, regular police, Department of Factories, BGMEA, and BKMEA would work together in a coordinated manner.
