On 15 November 2025, Apparel magazine 'Textile Focus' along with Dongyi Sourcing Limited (DSL) and Eurofins Consumer Product Testing Bangladesh, hosted an inspiring leadership and knowledge-sharing event aimed at empowering emerging professionals in Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector. The program was held on Saturday at the Noorul Quader Auditorium, BGMEA Complex, Dhaka.

More than 600 participants, including industry professionals and final-year university students from various institutions, attended the session. A distinguished panel of speakers shared their insights, experiences, and valuable guidance with the audience.

Speaking at the event, Mijanur Rahman, Vice President (Finance) of BGMEA and Managing Director & CEO of Fashion Power Group, delivered an inspiring account of his personal journey and how he rose to become a successful entrepreneur.

Vidiya Amrit Khan, Vice President of BGMEA and Deputy Managing Director of Desh Garments, delivered a touching speech reflecting on her remarkable path as an entrepreneur leading Bangladesh’s first 100% export-oriented garment factory. 

As the daughter of the late M. Noorul Quader, founder of Desh Garments, she feels some legacies are too large to replicate, yet they can inspire new paths of one’s own.

Her speech induced with inspiration and practical advice, especially for the women in attendance, as she shared how she moved forward within a traditionally male-dominated industry.
