A delegation of BGMEA led by President Mahmud Hasan Khan met with Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Hon’ble Minister of Finance and Planning at the secretariat on 25 February 2026. 

They had a meaningful discussion on the current economic situation, and industrial development, with particular emphasis on ensuring the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s RMG sector.

During the meeting, the BGMEA delegation underscored the importance of necessary policy support of the government to maintain the global competitiveness of the apparel industry.

The delegation underscored that sustained growth of the RMG industry would significantly contribute to strengthening Bangladesh’s long-term economic stability and resilience.

The delegation included Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan, Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman, Vice President Vidiya Amrit Khan, Vice President Shehab Udduza Chowdhury along with Directors Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Faisal Samad, Mohammed Abdus Salam, Nafis Ud Doula, Majumdar Arifur Rahman, and Dr. Rashid Ahamed Hossaini.
