To enhance the welfare of Bangladesh’s garment industry workers, promote football nationwide, and elevate the ‘Made in Bangladesh’ campaign on the global stage, a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today (30 November 2025) between the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
The event was held at the Nurul Quader Auditorium of the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, where BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and BFF President Tabith Awal signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Through this partnership, BGMEA became the first trade body in Bangladesh to establish a formal collaboration with any national sports federation.
Also present on stage during the signing ceremony were Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan (Bablu); Vice President Md. Rezwan Selim; Vice President (Finance) Mijanur Rahman; Vice President Md. Shehab Udduza Chowdhury; Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury; Director Nafis-Ud-Doula; Director Sheikh Hossain Muhammad Mostafiz; Director Kazi Mizanur Rahman; Director Asef Kamal Pasha; Director Mohammed Sohel; BGMEA Sports Committee Chairman Md. Sajjad Ali Khan; Press, Publication and Publicity Committee Chairman Mohammad Masud Kabir; and Branding BGMEA Committee Chairman Khan Monirul Alam (Shuvo).
From BFF, Vice President Fahad Mohammad Ahmed Karim and Executive Committee Member Iqbal Hossain were also present.
The main objective of this MoU is to improve the quality of life of garment industry workers and contribute to the development of football in the country through joint programs, training initiatives, talent development, and sports-related welfare activities.
During the ceremony, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan thanked the BFF President for partnering with BGMEA. He stated that this joint journey between industry and sports will elevate Bangladesh’s global reputation to new heights.
BFF President Tabith Awal said that this MoU opens the way for the garment sector and football to work together for the benefit of the nation. He expressed hope for BGMEA’s cooperation in promoting football at the grassroots level.
The welcome speech was delivered by BGMEA Director Shah Rayeed Chowdhury. It is noteworthy that his dedicated initiative played a key role in making the signing of this MoU possible.
