Bangladesh moves to join RCEP Bangladesh has taken up the initiative to join Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to retain duty benefits once it makes the United Nations status graduation from a least developed country to a developing one in 2026. An inter-ministerial meeting agreed that the county will join the RCEP, an agreement comprising the world's largest trade bloc led by China, if an opportunity is created after negotiations, said the commerce ministry.

দেশে আসছে না বড় অংকের রফতানি আয়: বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক কার্যকর পদক্ষেপ নিক রফতানি আয় প্রত্যাবাসনে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের বেশকিছু নিয়ম, শর্ত ও নির্দেশনা রয়েছে। বিদ্যমান নিয়মে রফতানি পণ্য জাহাজীকরণের পর নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে অর্থ দেশে আনতে হয়। কারো অর্থ না এলে তিনি নগদ সহায়তা ও ব্যাংকিং সুবিধা পান না। কিন্তু নিয়মটি খুব বেশি কড়াকড়ি করে পালন করা হয় না। তাছাড়া রফতানির আড়ালে দেশ থেকে অর্থ পাচার ঠেকাতে রফতানি পণ্যবাহী যানগুলো ট্র্যাকিং ও স্ক্রিনিং করার নির্দেশ দিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক। রফতানি পণ্য পাঠাতে ব্যবহূত জাহাজ ও কনটেইনারের ওপর বিশেষ নজর দিতে বৈদেশিক লেনদেনে জড়িত অনুমোদিত ডিলার (এডি) ব্যাংকগুলোকে এসব নির্দেশনা দেয়া হয়েছে। এসব পদক্ষেপেও সুফল মিলছে না। এক্ষেত্রে রফতানি আয়ের প্রকৃত হিসাব পেতে সেন্ট্রাল ডাটাবেজ তৈরি করা যেতে পারে, যাতে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক, এনবিআর, ইপিবি ও উদ্যোক্তাদের তথ্য সন্নিবেশ ও যাচাইয়ের সুবিধা থাকবে। তবে প্রতিটি ইস্যুই যথাযথভাবে যাচাই হতে হবে।

বাংলাদেশকে সহায়তা করতে প্রস্তুত আইএমএফ: রয়টার্স সংকট কাটাতে আন্তর্জাতিক মুদ্রা তহবিলের (আইএমএফ) কাছে ঋণ চেয়েছে বাংলাদেশ। এ বিষয়ে দাতা সংস্থাটির আনুষ্ঠানিক প্রতিক্রিয়া এখনো পাওয়া যায়নি। তবে আইএমএফের এক মুখপাত্রের বরাত দিয়ে বার্তা সংস্থা রয়টার্স জানিয়েছে, বাংলাদেশকে সহায়তা দিতে প্রস্তুত তারা।

১০ বিলিয়ন ডলার ছাড়াল বৈদেশিক ঋণ ও অনুদান নতুন মাইলফলকে পৌঁছাল উন্নয়ন সহযোগীদের অর্থ ছাড়। গত ২০২১-২২ অর্থবছর বিদেশি ঋণ ও অনুদান প্রথমবারের মতো ১০ বিলিয়ন বা এক হাজার কোটি ডলার ছাড়িয়েছে। এটি আগের অর্থবছরের তুলনায় প্রায় দুই বিলিয়ন ডলার বেশি। ২০২০-২১ অর্থবছরে বাংলাদেশকে ৭ দশমিক ৯৬ বিলিয়ন বা ৭৯৬ কোটি ডলারের ঋণ ও অনুদান দিয়েছিল উন্নয়ন সহযোগীরা। গতকাল বুধবার অর্থনৈতিক সম্পর্ক বিভাগ (ইআরডি) প্রকাশিত প্রতিবেদন থেকে এই তথ্য জানা গেছে।
