গ্যাস নিয়ে উদ্যোক্তারা কষ্টে আছেন: বিজিএমইএর সভাপতি জ্বালানিসংকট নিয়ে উদ্যোক্তারা যে কষ্টে আছেন, তা আবারও সামনে এনেছেন তৈরি পোশাকশিল্প মালিকদের সংগঠন বিজিএমইএর সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান। তিনি বলেছেন, ‘সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহে ব্যাপক উন্নতি হয়েছে। এর ধারাবাহিকতা ধরে রাখতে হবে। তবে গ্যাস নিয়ে আমরা এখনো কষ্ট পাচ্ছি। সরকার কাজ করছে। আশা করি, যেসব চ্যালেঞ্জ আছে, তা সমাধান পাবে।’ ‘মেড ইন বাংলাদেশ উইক’ উদ্‌যাপন–পরবর্তী সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আজ শনিবার রাজধানীর ইন্টারকন্টিনেন্টাল হোটেলে এসব কথা বলেন বিজিএমইএর সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান। এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন সংগঠনের সহসভাপতি এস এম মান্নান, শহিদউল্লাহ আজিম, খন্দকার রফিকুল ইসলাম প্রমুখ।

Readymade garment entrepreneurs of Bangladesh came up with such optimistic outlook of the global market for the country's main export industry, evidently amid latest developments on the world economic front following the G20 summit where supreme leaders of two superpowers--America and China--bumped fists in signs of a thaw in 'trade war'. "Some factories are doing well as the placement of work orders has increased recently," BGMEA president Faruque Hassan told a press conference at a city hotel on Saturday.

আমদানি-রপ্তানির লাইসেন্সের মেয়াদ ৫ বছর করল সরকার ব্যবসা সহজীকরণের জন্য আমদানি-রপ্তানির রেজিস্ট্রেশন সার্টিফিকেটের মেয়াদ এক বছরের পরিবর্তে পাঁচ বছর করল সরকার। গতকাল বুধবার বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের অবা-১ অধিশাখার উপসচিব নুসরাত আইরিন স্বাক্ষরিত এক পরিপত্রে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। পরিপত্রে বলা হয়েছে, আমদানিকারক ও রপ্তানিকারকসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট সবার অবগতির জন্য জানানো যাচ্ছে যে, বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ে গত ২৮ সেপ্টেম্বর অনুষ্ঠিত ‘ব্যবসা সহজীকরণের উদ্দেশ্যে বিদ্যমান লাইসেন্স/রেজিস্ট্রেশনসমূহের নবায়নের মেয়াদ বৃদ্ধিকরণ’ সংক্রান্ত সভার সিদ্ধান্ত অনুযায়ী বিদ্যমান ইমপোর্ট রেজিস্ট্রেশন সার্টিফিকেট (আইআরসি) ও এক্সপোর্ট রেজিস্ট্রেশন সার্টফিকেটের (ইআরসি) মেয়াদ এক বছরের পরিবর্তে পাঁচ বছর পর্যন্ত নির্ধারিত করা হলো। সংশ্লিষ্ট আবেদনকারী তাঁর প্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী ১-৫ বছর পর্যন্ত যেকোনো মেয়াদে আইআরসি ও ইআরসি গ্রহণ করতে পারবেন।

বিদ্যুতের সমস্যা সমাধান, গ্যাসের সংকটও নিরসন হবে পোশাক শিল্পে বিদ্যুতের যে সমস্যা ছিল তা প্রায় কেটে গেছে বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন বাংলাদেশ পোশাক প্রস্তুতকারক ও রপ্তানিকারক সমিতির (বিজিএমইএ) সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান। তিনি বলেন, ‘বিদ্যুতের সমস্যা সমাধান হয়েছে, আশা করছি শিগগিরই গ্যাস সংকটও নিরসন হবে।’ শনিবার রাজধানীর একটি পাঁচ তারকা হোটেলে ‘মেইড ইন বাংলাদেশ উইক’ পরবর্তী সংবাদ সম্মেলনে তিনি একথা বলেন। ফারুক হাসান বলেন, ‘বাংলাদেশ ব্রুনাই থেকে গ্যাস আমদানি করবে। ব্রুনাই থেকে গ্যাস আসা শুরু হলেই পোশাক কারখানায় জ্বালানির সমস্যা দূর হবে।’

এসেছে নতুন দেশের ক্রেতা মিলেছে রফতানি আদেশ যে উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে এই বিশাল আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল তা সফল হয়েছে বলে জানলেন বিজিএমইএ সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান। তিনি বলেন, ‘এই আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে নতুন নতুন দেশের ক্রেতা এসেছে এবং তারা বাংলাদেশ থেকে তৈরি পোশাক কেনার জন্য প্রচুর অর্ডার দিয়েছেন। ফলে নতুন দেশে আমাদের পোশাক রফতানি বাড়বে। এভাবে আগামী ২০৩০ সালে দেশের পোশাক শিল্পের রফতানি ১০০ বিলিয়ন হবে। গতকাল শনিবার রাজধানীর একটি হোটেলে “মেড ইন বাংলাদেশ উইক” পরবর্তী এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানান বাংলাদেশ পোশাক প্রস্তুতকারী ও রফতানিকারক সমিতির (বিজিএমইএ) সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান।’

RMG industries still thwarted by gas crisis: BGMEA The apparel industries have been thwarted by the gas supply disruption, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan has said. Responding to another question, he said that the number of inventories has increased but not at a satisfactory pace. “The number of purchase orders totally depended on the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war. Once the global situation is normalized, our industry will also get more orders,” he added. Regarding the outcome of the “Made in Bangladesh Week”, he said that a large flock of old and new brands visited the event and have placed orders and extended commitment to source garments from Bangladesh.

Nearly 67% garment export receipts retained Thanks to the increasing use of local raw materials, Bangladesh's retention value from the shipment of apparel items is rising, highlighting the development of a strong backward linkage industry and less reliance on imported yarn and fabrics. The retention value of the exported apparel surged 36.36 per cent to $28.5 billion in the financial year of 2021-22 from $20.9 billion a year earlier, data from the Export Promotion Bureau and the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) showed.

পোশাক খাতে নতুন রাষ্ট্র থেকে অর্ডার পেয়েছে শনিবার (২৬ নভেম্বর) দুপুরে রাজধানীর একটি হোটেলে ‘মেড ইন বাংলাদেশ উইক’ আয়োজনে এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ তথ্য জানান বাংলাদেশ পোশাক প্রস্তুতকারী ও রপ্তানিকারক সমিতির (বিজিএমইএ) সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান। তিনি বলেন, এবারের মেড ইন বাংলাদেশ উইক আয়োজনে আমরা নতুন ক্রেতা পেয়েছি। তারা শুধু আসেইনি, অর্ডারও দিয়ে গেছে। তাদের সঙ্গে আমাদের একটা নেটওয়ার্কও হয়েছে। তারা নতুন প্রোডাক্ট কি চায়, সেটি জানতে আমরা দেশটির প্রতিনিধিদের অনুষ্ঠানে এনেছি। ফ্যাক্টরিতেও নিয়ে গিয়েছি। তাদের দেখানো হয়েছে আমরা কী এবং কীভাবে উৎপাদন করি। আমাদের মূল উদ্দেশ্যেই ছিল নেটওয়ার্কিং করা। নতুন যে রাষ্ট্রটি বাংলাদেশের পোশাক খাতে অর্ডার দিয়েছে সেটি ইরাক।

শিগগিরই গ্যাস সংকট নিরসন হবে বাংলাদেশ পোশাক প্রস্তুতকারক ও রপ্তানিকারক সমিতির (বিজিএমইএ) সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান বলেছেন, বিদ্যুতের সমস্যার সমাধান হয়েছে আশা করছি শিগগিরই গ্যাস সংকট নিরসন হবে। গ্যাস আসা শুরু হলেই পোশাক কারখানায় জ্বালানির সমস্যা দূর হবে। গতকাল শনিবার হোটেল ইন্টারকন্টিনেন্টালে ‘মেইড ইন বাংলাদেশ উইক’ পরবর্তী সংবাদ সম্মেলনে এ কথা বলেন তিনি। ফারুক হাসান বলেন, পোশাক কারখানায় সাম্প্রতিক যে বিদ্যুৎ-গ্যাসের সমস্যা তৈরি হয়েছিল তার সমাধান হয়েছে। কারখানায় উৎপাদন অব্যাহত আছে। আমাদের ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম-ঢাকা রুটে পণ্য রপ্তানিতে যে সমস্যা হয়েছিল তার সমাধান হয়েছে।

Some global brands still ignore workers safety: CCC Clean Clothes Campaign, a global platform of labour unions in garment and textile industry, on Thursday alleged that some global clothing brands such as Walmart, Sears, and Disney were still ignoring worker safety a decade after a devastating fire incident in Tazreen Fashion on the outskirts of Dhaka. The global rights platform also said that it was important to ensure that financial compensation was accessible for workers who did get injured or even died in factory incidents in the past decade since the Tazreen fire.

Dollar crisis will ease by January: Salman F Rahman The ongoing dollar crisis in the country will ease by January next year, said Salman F Rahman, private industry and investment adviser to the prime minister. He said this to journalists while talking to reporters during a visit to Mujibnagar Muktijuddho Smriti Complex (Mujibnagar Memorial) in Meherpur today. The value of the dollar has increased in the international market and that has affected the country's market, he said.
