পোশাকের দাম বাড়াতে রিটেইলার ক্রেতা প্রতিনিধিদের চিঠি বিজিএমইএর সম্প্রতি বিজিএমইএ সভাপতি ফারুক হাসান এই চিঠি দেন। চিঠিতে বলা হয়, কোভিড পরিস্থিতি ও পরবর্তী বৈশ্বিক পরিস্থিতিতে ব্যবসায় এসেছে নানা বাধা। দেশে বিদ্যুৎ, গ্যাসের দাম বৃদ্ধিতে উৎপাদন খরচও বেড়েছে। সেই সঙ্গে ব্যাংক সুদের হারও বেড়েছে। এর মধ্যে আগামী ১ ডিসেম্বর থেকে নতুন মজুরি কাঠামো শুরু হবে। সার্বিক পরিস্থিতি বিবেচনায় তৈরি পোশাকের দাম পুনর্নির্ধারণের জন্য ক্রেতাদের কাছে বিজিএমইএ আহ্বান জানাচ্ছে।

Ministry seeks applications to update sick industries list In an effort to identify industrial problems and develop recommendations in the face of post-pandemic economic headwinds and a global manufacturing downturn, the Ministry of Industries has invited applications to update the list of sick industries. The ministry said in a notification that industries that have incurred losses for three consecutive years or have failed to reach the break-even point since 2012 will be considered sick.

RMG factories open as workers return The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is seeking higher prices for each unit of garment items in line with workers' wage increases as factories that had temporarily shut down due to recent unrest started reopening gradually yesterday after the arrival of workers.

BGMEA decries issuance delay Amid disruptions to foreign trade by delays in issuing waiver certificates to feeder vessels, the country's apparel makers have urged the authorities concerned to resolve the complexities in greater good of businesses. Foreign feeder vessels carry over 90 per cent of seaborne trade to and from Chittagong port, as well as regional transhipment ports.

ব্যবসার পরিবেশের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে উন্নতি আনতে হবে বাংলাদেশের বিনিয়োগ পরিবেশ এবং সরকারি সেবা বিশেষ করে বিভিন্ন নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থার অনুমোদন প্রক্রিয়া নিয়ে বিনিয়োগকারীদের অভিজ্ঞতা খুব বেশি সুখকর নয়। বিদেশি বিনিয়োগ বাড়াতে ব্যবসার পরিবেশের প্রতিটি ক্ষেত্রে উন্নতি আনতে হবে। সহজ করতে হবে সেবাপ্রাপ্তি। গতকাল সোমবার ‘বাংলাদেশের বিনিয়োগ পরিবেশ : বর্তমান অবস্থা ও লক্ষ্য ২০৪১’ শীর্ষক সেমিনারে বক্তারা এসব কথা বলেন। ফরেন ইনভেস্টরস চেম্বার অব কমার্স অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রিজের (এফআইসিসিআই) ৬০ বছর পূর্তি উপলক্ষে দুই দিনব্যাপী অনুষ্ঠানের শেষ দিনে এই সেমিনারের আয়োজন করা হয়।

পণ্য আমদানি কমেছে বন্দরে ব্যবসায়ীরা বলছেন, নগরীতে গণপরিবহন চলছে।দূরপাল্লার বাসও চট্টগ্রাম থেকে ছেড়ে যাচ্ছে। কিন্তু ট্রাক-কাভার্ড ভ্যান মালিকরা নিরাপত্তাহীনতায় পণ্যবাহী গাড়ি মহাসড়কে চালাচ্ছেন কম। সেটার প্রভাব পড়ছে বন্দরে পণ্য পরিবহনে। সরকার নিরাপত্তা দিলে পরিবহন মালিকরা গাড়ি বের করবেন।
