পোশাক শ্রমিকদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে দুই সংগঠনের সঙ্গে কাজ করবে ইপিবি তৈরি পোশাক শিল্পের শ্রমিক, কর্মচারী ও মিড-লেভেল কর্মকর্তাদের দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে প্রশিক্ষণ কার্যক্রম পরিচালনার জন্য রপ্তানি উন্নয়ন ব্যুরো (ইপিবি), বিজিএমইএ, বিকেএমইএ ও বিজিএমইএ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব ফ্যাশন অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজির (বিইউএফটি) মধ্যে পৃথক চুক্তি সই হয়েছে। বৃহস্পতিবার (২৫ জুন) বিকেলে ইপিবির সম্মেলনকক্ষে আয়োজিত অনুষ্ঠানে এসব চুক্তি সই হয়। অনুষ্ঠানে সভাপতিত্ব করেন ইপিবির ভাইস-চেয়ারম্যান ও প্রধান নির্বাহী মোহাম্মদ হাসান আরিফ। অনুষ্ঠানে বিজিএমইএ সভাপতি মাহমুদ হাসান খান বলেন, দেশে বর্তমানে স্যুট ফ্যাক্টরির সংখ্যা বাড়ছে। তাই বেসিক ওভেন মেশিনারি পরিচালনার প্রশিক্ষণের পাশাপাশি সার্কুলার মেশিন ও কমপ্লায়েন্স বিষয়গুলো প্রশিক্ষণ মডিউলে যুক্ত করা হলে তা আরও যুগোপযোগী হবে।

Steps taken to enhance RMG workforce skills The Export Promotion Bureau on Thursday signed separate agreements with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association and BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology to strengthen the skills of workers and professionals in the country’s readymade garment sector. The agreements were signed at a ceremony held at the EPB conference room in the capital with EPB vice-chairman and chief executive Mohammad Hasan Arif in the chair, said a press release.Under the initiative, a total of 22,815 workers, employees and mid-level officials of the RMG sector will receive training over the next three fiscal years — 2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29. The BGMEA and the BKMEA will conduct five-day training programmes for workers while BUFT will offer six-month post graduate diploma courses for officials. The entire programme will be financed through the Ministry of Commerce’s training fund. Speaking on the occasion, BGMEA president Mahmud Hasan Khan said training curricula should be updated to incorporate emerging industry needs, including circular machinery operations and compliance-related issues, particularly as the number of suit manufacturing factories continues to grow in Bangladesh.

সুদ না কমলে বিনিয়োগ বাড়বে না উচ্চ মূল্যস্ফীতি ও সুদহার এবং জ্বালানিসংকটের কারণে দেশের বেসরকারি খাতে প্রাণচাঞ্চল্য নেই। এত কর ও সুদ দিয়ে দেশে ব্যবসা হবে না।নীতি সুদহার কমাতে হবে। করের টাকার অপচয় বন্ধ করতে হবে। তা না হলে বেসরকারি খাতে গতি আসবে না। অর্থনীতিতে মন্দাভাব চলে আসবে।আগামী অর্থবছরের প্রস্তাবিত বাজেট নিয়ে আলোচনায় এ কথা বললেন ব্যবসায়ী ও অর্থনীতিবিদেরা। তারা বলেছেন, বন্ধ কারখানা চালু করার জন্য প্রণোদনা তহবিলের উদ্যোগ ইতিবাচক। তবে বিদ্যমান শিল্পকারখানাকে টিকিয়ে রাখতে বেশি মনোযোগ দিতে হবে। কারণ, বেসরকারি খাতে প্রবৃদ্ধি কমছে। বাংলাদেশ অর্থনীতি সমিতির আয়োজনে এই আলোচনা সভায় প্রধান অতিথি ছিলেন অর্থমন্ত্রী আমির খসরু মাহমুদ চৌধুরী।

করের নতুন বোঝায় উদ্বিগ্ন ব্যবসায়ীরা জাতীয় বাজেটে প্রস্তাবিত নতুন করব্যবস্থা, খুচরা পর্যায়ে অগ্রিম কর আরোপ, শিল্প খাতে অতিরিক্ত করের চাপ এবং কর প্রশাসনের নানা জটিলতা নিয়ে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছেন দেশের শীর্ষ ব্যবসায়ী নেতারা। তাঁদের মতে, করভিত্তি সম্প্রসারণের নামে নতুন নতুন করের বোঝা চাপিয়ে দিলে বিনিয়োগ, শিল্পায়ন ও ব্যবসা পরিচালনার ব্যয় আরো বাড়বে। একই সঙ্গে কালো টাকা বৈধ করার সুযোগ, কর ন্যায্যতার অভাব এবং করদাতাদের হয়রানি বন্ধে কার্যকর সংস্কারেরও দাবি জানিয়েছেন তাঁরা। বৃহস্পতিবার রাজধানীর ব্র্যাক সেন্টার ইনে ‘জাতীয় বাজেটে কর ন্যায্যতা : ২০২৬-২৭ অর্থবছরের রাজস্ব প্রস্তাবনার ওপর পর্যবেক্ষণ’ শীর্ষক সংলাপে এসব মতামত তুলে ধরা হয়। সংলাপের আয়োজন করে সেন্টার ফর পলিসি ডায়ালগ (সিপিডি)।

ছুটির দিনেও কাস্টমস সেবা চালু রাখা জরুরি শুক্র ও শনিবার কার্যক্রম সীমিত থাকায় বিমানবন্দরে জমে থাকা কার্গোর পরিমাণ কমছে না। স্থায়ী অবকাঠামো গড়ে ওঠার আগ পর্যন্ত ছুটির দিনেও কাস্টমসসহ সংশ্লিষ্ট সেবা চালু রাখা জরুরি বলে মনে করেন বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী খন্দকার আব্দুল মুক্তাদির। গতকাল বৃহস্পতিবার বাণিজ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের সম্মেলন কক্ষে বাংলাদেশ ও ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নের (ইইউ) মধ্যে বাণিজ্য ও বিনিয়োগ উৎসাহিত করার লক্ষ্যে ইইউ উত্থাপিত নন-ট্যারিফ ব্যারিয়ার বিষয়ক সমস্যাসমূহের মধ্যে বিমানবন্দরের কার্গো হ্যান্ডলিং সংকট ও এর সমাধান নিয়ে অনুষ্ঠিত এক সভায় প্রধান অতিথির বক্তব্যে তিনি এসব কথা বলেন।
