Garment exports find a workaround after India ends transhipment Garment exports to Europe have remained largely unaffected by India's suspension of transhipment through its airports, as Bangladeshi exporters adapt by using alternative routes and improved facilities at home. Shovon Islam, managing director of apparel exporter Sparrow Group, said pressure on Dhaka airport had eased since the EDS was installed in Sylhet. "Some major international clothing retailers and brands such as Inditex are now carrying the goods with their chartered planes from Sylhet or sometimes from the airport in Dhaka," he said. Faisal Samad, director at the BGMEA, said this was currently a lean season for air shipments, as many buyers were transporting goods by sea. "So, space on cargo flights is not an issue at the moment," he said, adding that a large volume of garments bound for Europe and the United States is now shipped via Colombo, with some airlifted from Dubai when deadlines are tight.

বাংলাদেশি পণ্যের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম রপ্তানি গন্তব্য জার্মানি বাংলাদেশি পণ্যের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম রপ্তানি গন্তব্য জার্মানি বলে জানিয়েছেন অন্তর্বর্তী সরকারের বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টা শেখ বশিরউদ্দীন। মঙ্গলবার (৭ অক্টোবর) বাংলাদেশে নবনিযুক্ত জার্মান রাষ্ট্রদূত রুডিগার লোটজের সঙ্গে বৈঠকে উপদেষ্টা এ কথা বলেন। বিকেলে সচিবালয়ে বাণিজ্য উপদেষ্টার কার্যালয়ে বৈঠকটি হয়। এতে বাংলাদেশ ও জার্মানির মধ্যকার দ্বিপক্ষীয় বাণিজ্য, বিনিয়োগ ও অর্থনৈতিক সহযোগিতার বিভিন্ন দিক নিয়ে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা হয়। উপদেষ্টা বলেন, বাংলাদেশ এবং জার্মানির মধ্যে চমৎকার দ্বিপক্ষীয় বাণিজ্য সম্পর্ক রয়েছে। এ সম্পর্ক জোরদার করতে উভয় দেশের বাণিজ্যকে বহুমুখী করা প্রয়োজন। এর মাধ্যমে উভয় দেশের লাভবান হওয়ার সুযোগ রয়েছে।

প্রথমআলো
চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরমুখী পণ্যে সারচার্জ আরোপ ফ্রান্সের কোম্পানির চট্টগ্রাম বন্দর দিয়ে আমদানি-রপ্তানি পণ্যের কনটেইনার পরিবহনে সারচার্জ বা বাড়তি মাশুল আরোপের ঘোষণা দিয়েছে ফ্রান্সভিত্তিক শিপিং কোম্পানি সিএমএ-সিজিএম। আজ মঙ্গলবার কোম্পানিটির ওয়েবসাইটে এই ঘোষণা দেওয়া হয়। ২৬ অক্টোবর থেকে এই ‘সারচার্জ’ কার্যকর করা বলে নোটিশে জানিয়েছে কোম্পানিটি। সিএমএ-সিজিএম কোম্পানির নোটিশে সারচার্জ আরোপের কারণ হিসেবে বলা হয়, চট্টগ্রাম বন্দর কর্তৃপক্ষ মাশুল বাড়ানোর কারণে স্থানীয়ভাবে পরিচালন খরচ বেড়েছে। বাড়তি এই পরিচালন খরচ মোকাবিলা করতে তাই সারচার্জ আরোপ করা হয়েছে। এই সারচার্জ বাংলাদেশে স্থানীয়ভাবে প্রদান করতে হবে বলে জানানো হয়। ‘ইমার্জেন্সি কস্ট রিকভারি সারচার্জ’ বা জরুরি খরচ পুনরুদ্ধার নামে এই সারচার্জ আরোপ করা হয়েছে।

যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে পোশাকের দাম বেড়েছে ৮% বিভিন্ন দেশের রপ্তানি পণ্যে যুক্তরাষ্ট্র সরকার শুল্ক বসিয়েছে। মার্কিনিদের জনজীবনে এর প্রভাব পড়তে শুরু করেছে। মাঝারি গতিতে বাড়ছে মূল্যস্ফীতি, স্যুপের প্যাকেট, কোকের ক্যান, গাড়ির যন্ত্রাংশসহ অনেক পণ্যেরই দাম বাড়ছে। শুল্ক বৃদ্ধির পরও এত দিন অনেক পণ্যের দাম নিয়ন্ত্রণে ছিল।কারণ মার্কিন কম্পানিগুলো বিপুল পণ্য মজুদ করে রেখেছিল। সেগুলো বিক্রি করার কারণে শুল্কের প্রভাব খুব একটা টের পাওয়া যায়নি। এখন মজুদের পরিমাণ ফুরিয়ে আসছে। নতুন পণ্য আমদানি করতে গেলেই আমদানিকারকদের গুনতে হবে অতিরিক্ত শুল্ক। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ব্যুরো অব লেবার স্ট্যাটিস্টিকসের তথ্য অনুযায়ী, গত ছয় মাসে (আগস্ট পর্যন্ত) অডিও সরঞ্জামের দাম ১৪ শতাংশ, পোশাকের দাম ৮ শতাংশ এবং বিভিন্ন টুল ও যন্ত্রাংশের দাম ৫ শতাংশ বেড়েছে। যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের ন্যাশনাল রিটেইল ফেডারেশনের প্রধান অর্থনীতিবিদ মার্ক ম্যাথিউস বলেন, ‌‘গত দুই বছরে মূল্যস্ফীতি ছিল শূন্যের কোঠায়।

দেশ রুপান্তর
ভুয়া ওয়েবসাইটে ঋণের প্রলোভন, সতর্কবার্তা কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংকের আন্তর্জাতিক মুদ্রা তহবিল (আইএমএফ) ও বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের নাম এবং লোগো ব্যবহার করে কিছু ভুয়া ওয়েবসাইট ও অ্যাপ তৈরি করে জনগণকে ঋণ দেওয়ার প্রলোভন দেখানো হচ্ছে। এ বিষয়ে কাউকে প্রতারণার ফাঁদে না পড়তে সতর্ক করেছে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক। গতকাল মঙ্গলবার (০৮ অক্টোবর) এক সতর্কবার্তায় কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাংক জানায়, এসব ওয়েবসাইট বা অ্যাপের সঙ্গে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক কিংবা আইএমএফের কোনো ধরনের সম্পর্ক নেই। সাধারণ মানুষ যাতে এসব প্রতারণামূলক কার্যক্রমে বিভ্রান্ত না হন, সে বিষয়ে সবাইকে সচেতন থাকার আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে।

দৈনিক ইত্তেফাক
চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে তিন মাসে কনটেইনার হ্যান্ডলিং বেড়েছে ১২ শতাংশের বেশি চলতি অর্থবছরের প্রথম তিন মাসে (জুলাই-সেপ্টেম্বর) চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে কনটেইনার, কার্গো ও জাহাজ হ্যান্ডলিং আগের অর্থ বছরের একই সময়ের তুলনায় বেড়েছে। ২০২৫-২৬ অর্থবছরের জুলাই-সেপ্টেম্বরে চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে ৯ লাখ ২৭ হাজার ৭১৩ টিইইউস (২০ ফুট দীর্ঘ) কনটেইনার হ্যান্ডলিং হয়েছে, যা গত অর্থবছরের একই সময়ের চেয়ে ১ লাখ ১ হাজার ১৮৫ টিইইউস বেশি। প্রবৃদ্ধির হার ১২ দশমিক ২৪ শতাংশ। বন্দর সূত্রে জানা যায়, গত তিন মাসে চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে কার্গো হ্যান্ডলিং হয়েছে ৩ কোটি ২৯ লাখ ১৯ হাজার ৯৬৬ টন এবং জাহাজ হ্যান্ডলিং হয়েছে ১ হাজার ৩১টি।
