A delegation from Euglena Co., Ltd., a Japanese biotechnology company with over two decades of presence in Bangladesh, met with BGMEA at the BGMEA Complex in Dhaka on 4 June 2026. 

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Sohel, Director and Coordinator of the Japan Market Strategy Development Committee at BGMEA; Nafis-Ud-Doula, Director at BGMEA; and Kazi Sarwar Habib and Tareq Rafi Bhuiyan, Advisors to the Japan Market Strategy Development Committee of BGMEA. 

The discussions focused on exploring a potential collaboration to introduce microalgae-based nutritional supplements for RMG workers, as part of BGMEA's ongoing commitment to worker health and well-being.
