A delegation from the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Human Rights, business representatives, and the ILO attended a luncheon meeting organized by the European Union Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Bangladesh. The meeting, held recently in Dhaka, focused on discussions around the overall labor rights situation in Bangladesh.
Representing BGMEA, Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan highlighted the remarkable progress made by the ready-made garment sector in ensuring workers’ rights. He shared that the current BGMEA Board has already been engaging in dialogue with 81 labor federations. He also briefed the delegation on the ongoing legal reforms aimed at further strengthening labor rights and welfare.
