BGMEA Vice President Ms. Vidiya Amrit Khan represented Bangladesh’s RMG industry as a distinguished panelist at the Hamburg Sustainability Conference (HSC) 2026 , participating in the session “Water–Growth Nexus: Sustaining Industrial Development in a Thirsty World.”
The session, moderated by Katie Gallus, was part of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2026, organised by the German Water Partnership, and brought together global leaders, policymakers, businesses, and sustainability experts to explore the growing importance of water for economic resilience, industrial development, and sustainable growth. The conference also featured high-level participation from German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Minister Carsten Schneider, and Federal Minister Reem Alabali Radovan, among other distinguished global leaders.
Ms. Vidiya Amrit Khan highlighted the BGMEA’s commitment to reducing the industry’s blue water footprint, strengthening wastewater reuse, and promoting cleaner production. She emphasized that a lot of meaningful progress begins with practical improvements and greater consumer consciousness, while long-term water resilience requires collective action among manufacturers, brands, governments, and development partners.
