A panel discussion titled "From Factory Floors to Global Leadership: How Bangladesh's RMG Sector is Redefining Responsible Business for the World" was held at the Sustainability Summit-2026 on July 18. 

The summit was organized by AkijBashir Group, powered by SMC Enterprise Limited and American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), in association with PRAN-RFL Group and BGMEA.

Moderated by BGMEA Vice President Ms. Vidiya Amrit Khan the session featured distinguished panelists including Kamran Sadique, Co-Chair, Standing Committee on Decarbonization, BGMEA and Mohammed Zahidullah, Chief Sustainability Officer, DBL Group. 

The discussion highlighted Bangladesh's remarkable transformation from a compliance-driven industry to a global leader in responsible manufacturing. Panelists explored how the country's 290 LEED-certified green factories; the highest in the world together with advancements in resource efficiency, decarbonization, traceability, and transparent ESG practices, are strengthening the global competitiveness of Bangladesh's RMG sector. 

The session also emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among industry, brands, policymakers, and development partners to address emerging sustainability requirements and position Bangladesh as a trusted, transparent and future-ready sourcing destination.
