BGMEA and Open Supply Hub signed a Memorandum of Understanding to showcase the capabilities and transparency of Bangladesh’s readymade garment industry to the global market. Through this partnership, Bangladesh, one of the world’s leading apparel exporting countries, will make production-related information available on an open-source global platform.
The MoU was signed virtually through a digital platform at the BGMEA office on 10 May 2026. Vidiya Amrit Khan signed on behalf of BGMEA, while Hannah Lenett signed on behalf of Open Supply Hub.
The event was attended by Shah Rayeed Chowdhury, Director of BGMEA, and M. Sazedul Karim, along with senior officials from both organizations.
Key highlights of the MoU:
• Factory Mapping: Information and locations of BGMEA member factories will be integrated into Open Supply Hub’s global supply chain mapping platform.
• Unique ID and Standardization: Each factory will receive a “Universal OS ID” through OS Hub’s algorithm, enabling global brands, retailers, and researchers to accurately identify factories and ensure greater data transparency.
• Capacity Building and Training: Online workshops and training programs will be organized for factory owners and managers to strengthen their capacity in digital profile management.
• Reducing Audit Duplication: The initiative will support interoperability between different platforms, helping reduce repetitive reporting and duplication of information across compliance systems.
