President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Md Atiqul Islam has been awarded Commercially Important Person (CIP) status under ex-officio category for his contribution to creating employment and the country’s economic growth. The BGMEA President received the CIP (Industry) 2013 award from Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at a function at BIAM Auditorium in the capital on 11 February 2014.
