BGMEA organized a press conference on July 4 to brief the media on the overall situation of the RMG industry ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman spoke at the press briefing while Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, Vice President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu) and Vice President Ferdous Perves Bivon were present.
The BGMEA President thanked all, including the RMG entrepreneurs, for timely making payments to the workers. About 99.95% of the BGMEA member factories paid salaries and Eid bonus to their workers well ahead of the festival, he informed the press.
He also expressed thanks to the government for taking steps, including keeping banks and custom houses open during holidays, to facilitate RMG exports.
