BGMEA opens exhibition center at its headquarters in Uttara

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) opened an exhibition center at its headquarters in Dhaka on March 7.

The exhibition center is named in honor of the late Mosharraf Hossain, former president of BGMEA, as a tribute to his remarkable contributions that played a pivotal role in the development of the ready-made garment sector in Bangladesh.

Mosharraf Hossain was also a Member of Parliament elected from Feni-3 constituency thrice.

BGMEA President Faruque Hassan inaugurated ‘Mosharraf Hossain Exhibition Enclave’ in presence of Mosharraf Hossain’s wife Farida Hossain, two daughters — Farah Anjum Bari and Farhana Anjum and son-in-laws S. A. Bari and Arif Ibrahim.

The spacious exhibition center will be used to host various exhibitions, including the display of garments, especially high-end and innovative garments developed in Bangladesh, product launching, and heritage items.

Faruque Hassan said BGMEA is actively engaged in the promotion and development of high-end fashionable garments, utilizing locally sourced fabrics such as Muslin, Jamdani, Khadi, and more.

The Mosharraf Hossain Exhibition Enclave will serve as a central hub for exhibiting Bangladesh’s rich heritage and culture, while also showcasing the RMG industry's innovations, achievements, and commitment to sustainable practices.

It will help to brand Bangladesh and the industry, and create an opportunity of exporting garments linking the rich culture and heritage of Bangladesh with fashion.
