Speakers at a meeting underscored the need for fostering the Center of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI) to produce skilled workforce for the apparel industry of Bangladesh.
FBCCI President Md. Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) attended the meeting as chief guest, which was organized by CEBAI and ILO at a city on 14 December 2017 to inform brands about CEBAI and the activities it has been carrying out to enhance productivity and diversification in the RMG industry as well as potential areas of research.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, CEBAI President Md. Atiqul Islam, BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, Sustainability Manager of H&M for Bangladesh and Pakistan Kiran Gothatothi, Professor at IBA, Dhaka University Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar, among others, were present at the meeting.

CEBAI is run by the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and up until November 2017 was supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO), Sweden and leading international fashion retailer H&M.
