Buyers Forum expressed concern over factory fire

Buyers Office Representative Forum in Dhaka expressed its concern over Standard Group factory fire and ongoing political turmoil in Bangladesh at its regular monthly meeting with BGMEA held on first Monday of every month.
BGMEA President Md Atiqul Islam and Vice President Md Shahidullah Azim were present at the meeting.
The members of the Buyers Forum expressed their shock and concern over the mindless act of arson at a 9-storey factory of Standard Group located at Konabari, Gazipur.
The forum said that it is really unfortunate that now on a daily basis they are receiving reports of shops, cars, buses and trains set ablaze. Expressing its worry the forum added “The really shocking part is the fact that the attackers purposely chose targets with people inside. Innocent commuters, inclusive of children, are being cruelly sacrificed for the purpose of politics!”
Members of the Buyers Forum listed the following points they expect to happen:
1. Enforcement of law and order.
2. Taking immediate measures to protect RMG industry -- people’s safety first and also the assets of entrepreneurs.
3. Launching a deep and detailed investigation that must lead to the people directly and indirectly responsible for the attack on the factory of Standard Group and punish them according to the law of the land.
