A conference on Partnership for  Sustainable Textiles  was inaugurated by  German Federal Minister for  Economic  Cooperation and  Development Dr.  Gerd Müller on 23 November in Berlin where BGMEA President spoke at the closing.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman and Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir attended conference and shared the progress Bangladesh apparel industry has made in the areas of safety and sustainability.
In the sideline of the conference, a panel discussion on sustainable textiles was held in which alongside the BGMEA President, Member of the European Parliament Arne Lietz, Textile and Garment Director of IndustriALL Global Union Christina Hajagos-Clausen, Coordinator of Secretariat, Dutch Agreement on Sustainable Garment and Textile, Jef Wintermans, and Coordinator of International Secretariat, Clean Clothes Campaign, Ineke Zeldenrust, took part.
The Vice President (Finance) of BGMEA also spoke at a workshop on the issue of partnership for sustainable textiles arranged on the occasion.
