It’s time to show the world the story and glory behind “Made in Bangladesh” brand! It’s time to tell the world our vision and determination to take “Made in Bangladesh” brand to a new height! With this spirit and aim, for the very first time the Made in Bangladesh Week, organized by BGMEA, has kicked off in Dhaka on November 13.
We are happy and proud to have H. E. Sheikh Hasina, MP, Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh, as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the mega event, as under her prudent and visionary leadership Bangladesh has emerged as a model of development in the world and the “Sonar Bangla” dreamt by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is now becoming a reality.
Faruque Hassan, President of BGMEA, chaired the inaugural ceremony which was addressed by Honorable Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister Salman F Rahman, President of International Apparel Federation (IAF) Cem Altan and Senior Vice President of BGMEA SM Mannan (Kochi) while First Vice President of BGMEA Syed Nazrul Islam and Vice President Shahidullah Azim were present on the dais.
The Honorable Prime Minister unwrapped two coffee table books prepared by BGMEA: one is on the Beauty of Bangladesh, and another one is on the Good Practices of Bangladesh’s RMG industry.
The inaugural ceremony was abuzz with spontaneous participation of various stakeholders including former Presidents of BGMEA, present Vice Presidents, Directors of BGMEA, Ambassadors, foreign buyers, BGMEA members and other dignitaries.
In his welcome remarks, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan narrated the objective behind organizing the Made in Bangladesh Week which aims to promote Bangladesh internationally, especially showcasing the potentials of Bangladesh with a realistic narrative of why brands, buyers and investors across the globe choose Bangladesh as their preferred sourcing and investment destination.
He also mentioned that the weeklong event would serve as a platform to showcase the RMG industry, including strengths, innovative approach towards product diversification, productivity and efficiency improvement.
He expressed high optimism that the event would play a crucial role in changing the narrative about Bangladesh.
