MoU signed between BGMEA and Daily Star

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Daily Star at BGMEA auditorium on 5 January.
BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman and Editor of the Daily Star MahfuzAnam signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under the MoU, BGMEA and the Daily Star will jointly organize a roundtable discussion on titled “Target US$50 Billion: We need your support to reach it” at the Daily Star Center on 23 January.
The purpose of the roundtable is to generate useful discussion on the importance of sustainable growth of the RMG sector so that the target of US$50 billion can be achieved with the shortest possible time. The discussion will also highlight the possibilities, challenges and other issues relevant to the topic.
Different stakeholders, including Government Ministers, Development Partners, Buyers’ Representatives, Workers’ Representatives, sector Researchers, Academics and BGMEA Leaders, will attend the roundtable discussion.
BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Special Supplement Editor of the Daily Star Shahnoor Wahid, among others, were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
