MoU signed to enhance CSR, reproductive health and innovative leadership in RMG sector

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) and MDF Training & Consultancy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate and enhance the research project entitled “Corporate Social Responsibility, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Innovative Leadership in the readymade garment sector in Bangladesh”.
Honorable Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, MP, attended the MoU signing ceremony as chief guest while Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs Tipu Munshi, MP, was present as special guest.

BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Chairman of Board of Trustees of BUFT Muzaffar U. Siddique and Project Coordinator, MDF Training & Consultancy Ineke Pitts signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations while BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan and former BGMEA President Abdus Salam Murshedy, who are also Members of Board of Trustees, BUFT were present.
The MoU aims to establish collaboration between BGMEA, BUFT and MDF concerning implementing and improvement of the outputs of this project across all BGMEA member factories.
Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Benoit-Pierre Laramée and Deputy Head of Mission at Embassy of the Netherlands Martine Van Hoogstraten also attended the program.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed awarded certificates to 17 BUFT Faculty Members at the program for their completion of M.Sc level Diploma Course from Nyenrode Business University, Kingdom of the Netherlands.
BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, Vice President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu), Vice President Ferdous Perves Bivon, BGMEA Directors and BUFT Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Masud Husain were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
