Aiming to enhance the effective role of the industrial sector in job creation and expand real employment opportunities for trainees, the “Workshop with Head of HR 2026” was held under the initiative of the SICIP-BGMEA Program. The workshop, attended by Heads of Human Resources from leading industrial organizations in the country, featured important discussions on skills development, industry-driven training, and effective pathways from training to employment.
The consultation meeting was organized on 18 April 2026 by BGMEA under the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP-BGMEA), which is funded by the Ministry of Finance of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The initiative focuses on creating skilled manpower in line with the demands of the ready-made garment, textile, and other sectors through professional training programs, ultimately promoting employment.
The event was held at the BGMEA Multipurpose Hall, where Majumdar Arifur Rahman attended as the Chief Guest. Rumana Rashid delivered the keynote speech. The workshop was chaired by Munir Chowdhury. The session was moderated by Md. Ashfaquar Rahman.
In his speech, the Chief Guest stated that a skilled workforce has the potential to transform the country’s economic trajectory. He emphasized that skill is the greatest strength of individuals, and through proper guidance and engagement of garment factory officials, factories can become safe workplaces and the industry can evolve into a humane and sustainable sector.
In her keynote address, Rumana Rashid highlighted that skill-based recruitment systems can play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh’s apparel sector. She noted that the SICIP-BGMEA Program is creating an effective bridge between training and employment, helping connect trainees with real job opportunities.
