A special Munajat (prayer) was held on the premises of BGMEA Complex on Thursday, April 24 for the departed souls of the Rana Plaza tragedy.
Arranged by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, BGMEA leaders, garment entrepreneurs, labour leaders, politicians, ambassadors/high commissioners of different countries in Bangladesh, government secretaries, high officials of law enforcing agencies, representatives from Alliance and Accord, development partners, civil society members and people from all walks of life took part in the prayer.
Millions of people from home and garment factories also participated in the prayer which started at 12:01pm was telecast live on most of the national TV channels and radio stations.
