Swedish State Secretary to the Minister for Employment Ms. Irene Wennemo visited the Center of Excellence for Bangladesh Apparel Industry (CEBAI) at Savar in Dhaka on 16 November.
She held a meeting with BGMEA leaders, including BGMEA President Md. Siddiqur Rahman, at the CEBAI office.
Senior Vice President of BGMEA Faruque Hassan, Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir, former BGMEA Presidents Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) and Md. Atiqul Islam were also present on the occasion.
The CEBAI is an initiative supported by the International Labour Organization (ILO), Government of Sweden, leading Swedish fashion retailer Hennes and Mauritz (H&M) and the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to produce skilled workforce and conduct research for improving productivity in the RMG sector.
